Responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated Cyber Security Intern with a strong focus on Security Incident Event Monitoring (SIEM) and System Configuration. In this role, you will monitor and analyze security events using Splunk, configure and maintain infrastructure elements such as networking, firewalls, and Active Directory, and gain hands-on experience in cyber security and infrastructure management. This is an excellent opportunity for a student with a solid foundation in basic cyber security concepts to expand their knowledge in the field, including Penetration Testing and System Infrastructure Maintenance/Remediation. 

  

Responsibilities: 

As a Cyber Security Intern, your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Monitoring and analyzing security events using Splunk
  • Configuring and maintaining infrastructure elements, including networking, firewalls, and Active Directory
  • Using the MITRE ATT&CK Framework to identify and recognize the tactics used by threat actors
  • Setting up logging for events on firewalls, databases, and Active Directory systems
  • Participating in occasional Penetration Testing and System Infrastructure Maintenance/Remediation tasks
  • Writing comprehensive papers and reports on findings and observations
  • Collaborating with the team to enhance cyber security and infrastructure management processes

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university or college and working towards a degree in cyber security, computer science, or a related field
  • Solid understanding of basic cyber security concepts, including infrastructure security, networking, firewalls, and Active Directory
  • Familiarity with Splunk
  • Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK Framework
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write comprehensive papers and reports and present findings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
