FM has an exciting opportunity for a Claims Adjuster to work in our London Operations Claims office based in Maidenhead. There may also be the option for this role to be based out of the London office following the initial training period.

 

 

Responsibilities

The role will involve the investigation, negotiation and settlement of predominantly large, complex Property and Business Interruption claims emanating primarily from the UK and also the wider Operations territory including, Middle East and Africa. With responsibility for developing and nurturing relationships with our policyholders, we will provide you with training to confidently investigate, mitigate and lead all aspects of large commercial property claims. Adjusters are empowered to resolve and settle all assigned claims within the terms of the policy, for FM Affiliated and FM clients. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a high level of personal credibility through outstanding interpersonal skills and an aptitude for negotiation.

 

As experience develops this position also becomes integrated with the account team providing customised workshops, pre-loss preparation as well as policy and claims consulting.

 

Successful candidates will enroll on FM’s adjuster training program participating in formalized training classes in the US, self-study, and trailing experienced Adjusters.

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Degree qualified, preferably within an engineering discipline
  • Proven commercial property claims experience or experience of working within a high-volume high net worth homeowners claims environment.
  • Progressing to or commitment to gaining ACII qualifications or equivalent would be an advantage
  • Full drivers license and passport

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiating and consulting
  • Good judgement and timely decision making
  • Motivated, manages time and priorities efficiently
  • Comfortable with and interested in technical analysis of complex loss situations. Ability to comprehend financial and operational impact to the insured
  • Critical and analytical thinking, results driven and outstanding consensus building skills
  • Willingness to travel
