Summary:
This position will directly support the tax implications of the company’s investment activities. This includes, but is not limited to computing investment tax adjustments, preparation of tax forms, tracking tax basis, accounting for tax equity and tax credit investments and all reporting related thereto. The activities of this position will support the preparation and filing of the consolidated federal income tax return as well as tax provisions, tax planning and supporting tax audits. Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the function. Operates with limited supervision as needed in a complex environment.

 

Schedule & Location:
This is a full-time office-based position in Johnston, RI. Four days per week of work are required on-site, with flexibility for one remote day per week. Core on-site workdays are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Employee may choose to work remotely on either Tuesday or Friday. 

Responsibilities


• Prepares Investment tax calculations and tax forms necessary for the consolidated federal income tax returns, including workpapers to justify positions taken on return upon audit
• Contributes to the development of functional strategy; leads project teams to achieve milestones and objectives
• Prepares analyses and schedules for the calculation of the global tax provision
• Conducts complex analysis of tax accounting information and prepares reports and supporting financial information to respond to accounting management’s information needs as well as requests by outside auditors
• Works closely with Investment departments to streamline processes and consult as needed
• Responsible for accounting for tax credit activity, tax equity basis, credit utilization, projections and preparation of relevant tax forms

Qualifications

Required Education:
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field 

 

Highly Preferred Education:
• Masters Degree in Taxation
• Professional Designation (e.g. CPA, CMA)

 

Required Work Experience:
• 3+ years of related work experience

 

Highly Preferred Work Experience:
• 5+ years of related work experience
• Experience with tax investments adjustments 

 

Required Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of general accounting principles
• Knowledge of federal tax issues related to investment instruments, including tax credits
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with financial systems and standard software applications (e.g. PeopleSoft, Microsoft Excel, and Word)

 

Highly Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of Corptax software application

 

The hiring range for this position is $103,040 - $148,100 annually. The final salary offer will vary based on individual education, skills, and experience.
