Responsibilities

The Risk Manger reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the management of the corporate insurance and personal lines functions. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in one of the identified areas, as well as a risk management certification or advanced degree. Candidates for this position should have at least 10 years of experience, with such experience including an international remit. Typical travel is anticipated at less than 10% per year. The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, and in-depth understanding of risk management principles, strategies and concepts, as well as excellent management skills to be applied across various disciplines. The successful candidate must be able to think critically, operate independently, and communicate complex information to multiple levels of management.

 

As a key management position with authority to make decisions on risk management issues affecting FM. This position is responsible for:

 

• The development, implementation and monitoring of the organization's corporate risk and insurance programs including associated loss control programs

 

• Administering risk management programs to control and mitigate risks and losses to FM on a global basis

 

• Identifying and managing cost effective risk transfer solutions

 

• Management oversight of the organization's US and Canadian homeowner's insurance program

 

Manage the global corporate insurance program, including coverage, pricing and marketing strategies; manage claims and loss control programs; oversee engineering property risk at FM owned and leased locations in collaboration with Corporate Real Estate and Engineering functions

 

Manage the strategic direction, development and implementation of the corporate insurance and personal lines functions

 

Advise corporate real estate and Hobbs Brook Real Estate (subsidiary) on appropriate insurance terms and conditions for global construction projects, leases and vendor contracts

 

Develop and implement loss control programs and manage material claims with broker and/or legal department

 

Ensure insurance coverage is appropriate for high profile events (i.e. RIMS, LPGA)

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Risk Management and Insurance, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration degree required)
  • Risk Manager certification (E.g., CRM, ARM) or advanced degree (MBA, JD) required
  • 10 or more years of experience in the risk management field. 5 years of international experience preferred with emphasis in risk management, underwriting and/or brokerage
  • Travel obligations (10%) would include those related to corporate events (i.e. RIMS, Worldwide Conference, etc.), trainings/seminars (as required), underwriting meetings with insurers of FM and other business-related needs
