Summary:
The Corporate Travel Consultant is an integral member of the Corporate Travel and Travel and Expense (T&E) team, instrumental in developing analyses and trends to enable strategic decision making and corporate travel policy generation. The Corporate Travel Consultant provides regional travel support to finance managers in EMEA, Latin America and Asia Pacific and is the primary liaison for travelers within the North American region. 

 

Schedule & Location:
This is a full-time office-based position in Johnston, RI. Four days per week of work are required on-site, with flexibility for one remote day per week. Core on-site workdays are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Employee may choose to work remotely on either Tuesday or Friday.

Responsibilities

• Participates in day-to-day travel vendor relationship management; performs reporting and analysis to monitor performance against contractual service level agreements
• Collaborates with FM’s travel management company to resolve operational travel related matters related to both individual traveler inquiries and systemic inquiries (originating from various organizational groups)
• Provide training and support for SAP Concur online booking tool product
• Performs complex analysis and data trending to support key management decisions
• Plays a key role in strategic sourcing through the performance of an annual hotel RFP and assist in contract negotiations for FM’s major suppliers (e.g., airlines, hotels, ground transportation, etc.)
• Assists in the creation, updating and enhancement of corporate travel policies, procedures, and programs; performs routine and ad-hoc reporting and analysis of varying complexity to monitor compliance
• Assists with quarterly travel compliance reporting earmarked for Senior and Executive management
• Participates in the administration of the corporate American Express program
• Participates in Corporate Travel change management initiatives (e.g., rollout of new program)
• Remains abreast of key developments in the travel industry by attending seminars and networking with industry peers and vendor partners
• Must effectively translate that industry knowledge to the needs of FM’s travel program

Qualifications

Required Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Global Tourism, Finance or Management (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered) 

 

Required Work Experience: 
• 5-8 years of work experience within a corporate travel department of a global company or a global travel management company with a role focused on an industry specialty (e.g., airlines, hotels, etc.)

 

Required Skills:
• Demonstrated customer service orientation and ability to build strong business partnerships
• Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication and presentation skills
• Strong data analysis skills with the ability to elicit trends and communicate the same to management
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with understanding of travel marketplace dynamics
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Product Suite (mainly Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

 

Highly Preferred Skills:
• SAP Concur administration and support experience is a plus

 

The hiring range for this position is $90,720-$130,400 annually. The final salary offer will vary based on individual education, skills, and experience.
