We are seeking a Senior Program and Change Consultant who excels in leading large-scale programs with both strategic vision and tactical precision. This role requires a high-level thinker who serves as a trusted advisor to senior executives, adept at navigating high-priority, complex business challenges that hold significant strategic value and are subject to change and risk. The consultant will guide the conceptualization, delivery, and implementation of multifaceted, multi-year initiatives, encompassing both technology and non-technology dimensions.

The ideal candidate is a strategic problem solver with a proven track record of conducting in-depth analysis to identify issues and establish frameworks for comprehensive solutions that integrate people, processes, and technology. They will collaborate closely with stakeholders to meticulously detail and align solutions, ensuring seamless and efficient execution of initiatives. This role demands expertise in change management, project execution, and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to work effectively with agile teams and employ a hybrid execution style. Schedule & Location

This is a full-time office-based role located at our headquarters facility in Johnston, Rhode Island.

Responsibilities

Project and Team Leadership:

  • Establish a clear program structure with defined ownership and accountability to ensure alignment, decision-making, and communication.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders and stakeholders to define and manage project scope and objectives, resolving conflicts as needed.
  • Create and manage detailed project plans, tracking timelines, work breakdowns, and dependencies while facilitating cross-initiative collaboration to achieve priority goals across processes, people, and technology.
  • Apply Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies to optimize execution and delivery.
  • Provide regular updates on progress, changes, risks, and issues to ensure transparency, and monitor and report project budgets and expenses transparently.
  • Enable methods to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for assessing project success and benefit realization.
  • Define roles and responsibilities within the team, ensuring accountability, and inspire and coach teams to foster continuous improvement and psychological safety.
  • Use performance metrics to align team efficiency with project goals. 

Change Management:

  • Lead change management activities, focusing on leadership enablement, training, communication, implementation readiness and resistance management.
  • Develop and execute a change management strategy and plan to drive adoption and desired employee sentiment.
  • Gather feedback to diagnose issues and inform corrective actions. 

Risk and Issue Management:

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks to minimize impact on timelines and outcomes.
  • Implement processes to track, escalate, and resolve issues promptly to minimize disruption to project progress.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to address challenges and ensure continuity. 

Evaluation and Project Transition:

  • Conduct post-project evaluations to gather feedback, assess success and identify improvements.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices to inform future projects and drive continuous improvement.
  • Measure and report project and change results using analytics.
  • Ensure smooth project closeout and transition, completing deliverables and documentation, with a thorough handover. 

Organizational Enablement:

  • Consult with and train teams to enhance organizational competency and capability in project and change management execution.
  • Build and enhance execution effectiveness by developing and implementing standards, best practices, tools, and methods.
  • Serve as a mentor and guide, providing support and advice to emerging project and change management professionals, fostering their growth and development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MS or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic program management or consulting, leading complex, multi-year transformation projects that utilize hybrid delivery approaches.
  • Demonstrated strength as an enterprise change agent, driving large-scale change management initiatives.
  • Proven expertise in architecting comprehensive business solutions that harmonize the dimensions of people, processes, and technology for effective organizational transformation.
  • Proven track record of engaging and consulting with executive teams and senior leaders.
  • Broad and deep business knowledge, preferably in the insurance or P&C sectors.
  • Experience with top-tier consulting firms is highly desired.
  • Program management certification (e.g., PMP) is preferred.
  • Change management certification (e.g., ADKAR) is a plus

 The annual salary for this position is $134,080 to $192,700 and will be determined based on individual qualifications.
