Responsibilities

Exciting, multidisciplinary opportunity to be an integral part of how FM underwrites and delivers our policies.  This role is highly dynamic and requires an appetite for regulatory knowledge and the ability to apply your knowledge creatively to FM and FM Affiliated underwriting practices, policies and procedures. You will be instrumental in understanding and interpreting regulatory requirements and work effectively with both internal and external partners to ensure underwriting compliance.   

 

This position is critical for maintaining the integrity of FM insurance products offered across different markets.

 

Collaboration with National & Global Commercial Property Insurance Regulators and Agencies:

  • Ensure compliance with statutes and regulations.
  • Engage in discussions, negotiations, and external underwriting audits.
  • Create and submit regulatory findings to government agencies.

Collaborator Interaction:

 

  • Collaborate, educate, and communicate with colleagues and external support to implement regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate closely with other corporate departments

 

Research:

 

  • Conduct research using statutes, regulations and other internal and external information to support compliance efforts.
  • Comprehend FM and/or FM Affiliated underwriting practices, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

Educational Background

  • 4- year college degree is required.

Experience

  • 1-2+ years of experience in the legal field or relatable regulatory work space.
  • Recent legal studies graduates are welcome to apply.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of the U.S. legal system and the ability to read and comprehend statutes and regulations.

Skills

  • Excellent verbal, written, and mathematical skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Organization: Excellent organizational skills to manage filings and interactions with multiple departments and regulators.
