Responsibilities


About the Role:

As a Learning Experience Designer, you will be at the forefront of crafting complex and innovative learning solutions. You will leverage your expertise in adult learning theories and instructional design models to develop curricula, programs, workshops, courses, and materials across various formats. Your audience will be global, ranging from internal employees to customers eager to understand our rigorous certification standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate & Innovate: Work closely with Learning Partners within FM Academy to define business requirements specific to FM Approvals, and propose learning solutions that address these needs or suggest alternative non-learning solutions when appropriate.
  • Design & Develop: Utilize your understanding of adult learning theory and FM Approvals business processes to select suitable training media and methodologies. Develop high-level and detailed learning designs that deliver exceptional learner experiences.
  • Strategic Partnering: Act as a strategic business partner with internal and external developers to finalize program development, timelines, and budgets.
  • Measure & Enhance: Develop success metrics, review program evaluations, and provide recommendations for enhancements based on feedback and test results.
  • Vendor Management: Identify needs for outside resources, source vendors, and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality and service levels.
  • Support & Coach: Provide guidance and coaching to content developers, learning facilitators, and SMEs to ensure excellence in development and delivery.

  • Expertise in adult learning theories, performance consulting, instructional design models, and best practices in delivery, assessment, and evaluation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity, ensuring alignment with FM Approvals business strategy and standards.
  • Experience in sourcing and managing vendor/learning relationships, as well as leveraging internal and external SMEs.

Qualifications

4 Year / bachelor’s degree

5+ years relatable learning experience in Instructional Design, Performance Consulting, CPTD or equivalent combination of education, experience required.

Experience with ADDIE, active learning methodologies including in-person and virtual, program design and curriculum development for programs that span several months, helpful but not required.

 

Expert in all phases of instructional design with an agile mindset

Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate.

Strong attention to detail and sense of curiosity.

Proficient with latest development tools including Captivate, Storyline, Camtasia, Vyond (GoAnimate).

Strong project management, planning and organizing skills with ability to perform with simultaneous initiatives and a degree of ambiguity.

Strong personal accountability, decision quality, change agent, customer focus and growth mindset.

Strong collaboration and teamwork with diverse colleagues in a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary and global environment.

Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical information for nontechnical audiences.

Ability to work with a high performing team in a fast-paced, complex environment with minimum supervision and aggressive timelines.

Ability to lead, coach and mentor others.

Leverage professional experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals with the flexibility to adapt.

 

The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
