FM Aprobaciones is seeking a business development engineer for our new office located in Monterrey, NL, MX.
Interested candidates should have experience with one (or more) of the following product areas: commercial / industrial building materials and assemblies, fire protection systems, or electrical systems Knowledge of industry codes and associations would be helpful, but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
Identify and qualify opportunities in targeted industries.
Develop and execute annual business plans.
Build and maintain working relationships with team members, customers, and member companies within the Americas.
Overnight travel to customers, events and trade shows (Typically 25% or more).
Support the development of technical knowledge and communication of market trends to internal and external audiences.
Develop and maintain an understanding of the targeted industries including regulation landscape, competitor’s intelligence, challenges and opportunities

Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Bachelors degree in engineering or business / marketing degree with relevant experience in an engineering / technical role
3+ years in the product certification, manufacturing, field engineering or fire industry
Fluency in English and Spanish is required, proficiency in Portuguese would be a plus
Experience with third party product certification would be a plus
Project management, product design, field engineering experience within building materials, fire protection or electrical products would be a plus
Familiarity with FM Approvals evaluation standards and/or FM Loss Prevention Data Sheets is beneficial
