Schedule & Location:
This is an exempt, full-time, office-based position in Sao Paulo, Brazil with flexibility to work from home 1 day per week depending on business needs.
Testing: Candidates will be required to pass an English assessment.
Relocation is not offered for this position.
This position performs moderately complex routine and non-routine accounting and administrative work including compilation, consolidation, reconciliation, analysis of financial reports/ data, and accounts payable to support management. Also provides explanatory statements or presentations to bring unusual accounting issues or concerns to the attention of accounting management.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Prepares reports and conducts moderately complex analysis of financial data on a timely basis
Prepares ledgers and makes journal entries – (accounting closing)
Is responsible for Account Payable, Travel expenses reporting, and other administrative activities
Prepare financial reports
Manage databases for travel expenses reporting
Prepares detailed schedules supporting figures contained in financial statements
Reconciles information with financial system data
Participates in special projects to provide moderately complex accounting information and support
May conduct investigations of accounts if needed
Communicates with operating or staff personnel to supply or explain data, secure information, or offer additional support
May provide advice on accounting-related issues, using proven and documented principles to support recommendations
Performs other duties as assigned
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required
Work Experience:
2+ years of general accounting/financial reporting experience
Proficiency managing databases, creating pivot tables and leveraging formulas in excel required.
Experience with corporate tax strongly preferred!
Required Skills:
Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
Proficiency with financial systems and standard software applications (PeopleSoft; Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word)
Attention to detail and strong organization skills
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment
