Summary

The Learning Experience Designer position requires a seasoned learning professional who is a motivated self-starter, adaptable to change, open to collaboration and resilient. This person juggles multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity. The Learning Experience Designer demonstrates expertise in adult learning theories, performance consulting, instructional design models, development tools and knowledge of best practices in delivery, assessment and evaluation with measurable business results.

 

The Learning Experience Designer will have experience designing complex and innovative curricula, programs, workshops, courses, and materials for instructor-led, virtual, online, and blended environments targeting a global audience. The audience could include internal employees at all levels as well as clients and brokers. The Learning Experience Designer will be a proven strategic business partner and team player with extensive experience designing learning solutions in corporate environments.

 

Schedule and Location

This is an exempt position that is primarily remote based. Employee will need to live in a commutable distance to Norwood, MA and Johnston, RI for on-site business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Team with Learning Partners to qualify business requirements for learning and development, ensuring that an effective learning solution will be appropriate to meet specific requirements or recommending other non-learning solutions to consider.
  • Create high level learning designs that creatively address agreed business Learning and Development (L&D) needs.
  • Scope out the development and delivery costs for specified learning solutions including use of technology, FM learning hubs and use of external partner solutions and assets.
  • Develop detailed learning designs that aim to deliver an exceptional learner experience cost effectively with an appropriate use of technology.
  • Establish and implement appropriate success metrics for L&D programs including specific learning objectives.
  • Leverage internal and external subject matter experts (SMEs) including adjunct faculty in the design and development of learning programs.
  • Re-evaluate existing learning programs in terms of quality of program content or learner experience and efficiency of logistical aspects, making recommendations as necessary for enhancements or redevelopment.
  • Oversee development of new learning content or revisions to existing content to ensure fit for purpose and adherence to FM standards.
  • Leverage existing or "off the shelf" vendor provided learning where possible and appropriate.
  • Plan and facilitate the development tests of new or repurposed learning programs to ensure objectives are being met.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Content Developers.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Learning Facilitators or SMEs regarding their role in development and delivery of learning.

Qualifications

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree 

Required Work Experience

  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Instructional Design, Performance Consulting, CPTD or equivalent combination of education and experience 

Highly Preferred Work Experience

  • Experience with Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate (ADDIE)
  • Experience with active learning methodologies including in-person and virtual, program design and curriculum development for programs that span several months
  • Performance consulting and business partnership work experience 

Required Skills

  • Expert in all phases of instructional design with an agile mindset – ADDIE
  • Proficient with latest development tools including Articulate Storyline and Rise Camtasia, Vyond
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of curiosity
  • Strong project management, planning and organizing skills with ability to perform with simultaneous initiatives and a degree of ambiguity
  • Strong personal accountability, decision quality, change agent, customer focus and growth mindset
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork with diverse colleagues in a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary and global environment
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work with a high performing team in a fast-paced, complex environment with minimum supervision and aggressive timelines
  • Ability to lead, coach and mentor others
  • Leverage professional experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals with the flexibility to adapt 

The annual salary for this position is $103,040 to $148,100 and will be determined based on individual qualifications.
