Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst Co-op to join our Corporate Underwriting  teams. This full-time, in-person co-op opportunity is designed for students who want to apply their analytical and collaborative skills to real-world business challenges in natural hazards and catastrophe aggregation underwriting. The work will be tailored to your strengths – whether you lean technical or business focused – and you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting critical underwriting decisions.

  • Support natural hazards and catastrophe aggregation underwriting decisions

  • Create real-time impact analysis of natural catastrophes

  • Create reports, analyses, and automation to support business needs

  • Create pro-forma models to help determine the impact of changes to underwriting terms and conditions (e.g. deductible changes, capacity allocation or introduction of sublimit)

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to define internal and external metrics & system requirements

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled and in a college or university and working towards a bachelor’s or graduate degree in a data analytics, computer science, business, finance or commerce.

  • Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate level status

  • Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following is a plus: SQL, Power BI, Excel.

  • Ability to learn quickly on the job, collaborate with teams and share ideas to solve problems

  • Excellent written & oral communication skills, and strong organizational & planning skills
