FM Global is looking for an experienced engineer that is familiar with electrical and mechanical maintenance of industrial plants. The individual will be based in our Vancouver office. The ideal candidate will be an electrical, mechanical or materials engineer with specialization or experience in power generation, mining or pulp & paper industry.
The person in this position will deal directly with FM Global clients in helping them to protect their facilities against mechanical and electrical breakdown, fire and many other hazards.
The role involves conducting field visits, office work, and projects for large industrial occupancies and hazards.
Initially, assignments will be of limited scope and complexity giving you the opportunity to learn. You will gradually begin assessing risks at larger complex industrial properties, such as mines, pulp and paper mills, power plants and chemical plants.
You will work with minimal supervision and must be capable of working independently.
You should be willing to operate from a home office and will be expected to travel to clients' facilities frequently; overnight travel is expected approximately 25-30% of the time.
Successful candidates have the following qualifications:
For the Consultant Engineer position a P.Eng./ing. license is required.
Candidates working toward their P.Eng./ing. license will start as a Loss Prevention Consultant.
