Responsibilities - External

Provide complete administrative and limited technical support to the Chief Inspector and jurisdictional consultants who report to that manager.

 

The main responsibility is to assist Jurisdictional Consultants (JCs) in maximizing their time with our clients while developing trusting relationships with JCs and Chief Inspectors (CI). Under extensive training and mentoring will organize and schedule jurisdictional consultant visits. These evaluations are conducted to verify equipment conditions are in compliance with Jurisdictional Regulations and FM Global Standards.

 

Interact with clients daily as a liaison between the office and field staff and therefore requires strong customer service skills. A majority of the job is spent contacting established and new clients via phone or email to schedule site visits on behalf of the jurisdictional consultant. Maintain Outlook calendars for consultants to keep track of all activities (i.e., client visits, violation follow ups, and report writing) to ensure productivity is maintained. Distribute jurisdictional object violation letters written by the consultants.

 

The Engineering Assistant must gain an understanding of site specific information that includes, the geographic area, occupancy of the location, the type of jurisdictional inspections and any special instructions mentioned in company directives. Ensure appropriate time is allotted for travel and report writing. Communicates with the client and negotiates a visit date that can meet both the client’s needs and our needs.

 

 

Qualifications - External

College degree preferred;

  • Excellent communication: oral, written, and listening
  • Good time management and organization
  • Previous experience or background in scheduling preferred
  • Good problem solving, researcher, attention to detail
  • Leadership ability: self-starter, project management, capable of running a scheduling department
  • Advance working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel and Outlook 
  • Customer oriented and able to work well in teams, as well as the ability to adapt and understand cultural differences
