Responsibilities - External

Our new business technology transformation team is seeking an agile coach. The agile coach will work with teams of product owners, scrum masters, analysts, architects, developers, testers and stakeholders to improve the consistency and effectiveness of  Agile project management at FM Global. The position will be instrumental in improving the overall project team performance through collaboration, innovation, and introducing techniques that promote adaptability and flexibility. The main goal of the Agile Coach is to assist project teams to deliver quality solutions that meet clients’ expectation. The successful candidate will be a change agent and thus needs to possess great interpersonal skills, facilitating and coaching abilities, and a capability to inspire and motivate.

 

Responsibilities

  • Coaches multiple teams by facilitating/observing sprint activities (daily stand-up, sprint planning/reviews/retrospectives) and providing individual and team based coaching on Agile practices, and helping to solve project and organizational challenges
  • Coach Product Owners, Scrum masters, Developers on Agile roles, principles, practices, tools and artifacts
  • Coaches Product Owners, Scrum masters on the development and business-value-driving thinking, creating, grooming and using the product backlog, removing impediments and managing stakeholders
  • Works with Senior leadership to identify opportunities to support and sustain the Agile transformation
  • Develop and conduct trainings/workshops as needed to various functional groups and communities of Practices (BA, Dev, QA, Product Owners, PM)
  • Facilitate the effort to create an Agile Adoption Plan and Roadmap that includes goals/objectives, key dates/milestones, risks and communication approach
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate tools
  • Provide guidance through the FM Global Agile transformation with focus on continuous improvement
  • Develop standard processes, artifacts and templates required for Agile product development life cycle.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications - External

 

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent; degree in computer science or engineering preferred
  • 5+ years of iterative or agile like dev experience
  • One or more agile certifications is a plus (e.g. CSM, CSPO, CSP, PSM, PSPO)
  • Experience with agile tools (e.g. Jira, Rally) is a plus
  • Actively participates in the Agile Community as speakers, Meet-ups
  • Knowledgeable about Agile principles and application, or a fast learner with strong passion for Agile
  • Passionate about change and continuous improvement; willing to challenge status quo and dissent when needed, and not afraid to point out development areas and give constructive feedback
  • Spike in influencing and building strong relationships with teams, peers and leaders
  • Strong coaching and facilitation skills; adept at problem solving with team to analyze issues and opportunities to improve in working model, and align on path forward for action
  • Energetic and skilled at engaging with different team members with different personalities
  • Knowledge in mentoring and coaching Scrum Masters, developers, testers and product owners
  • Ability to learn quickly and teach others by showing what worked and what didn’t
  • Communicating in plain and articulated fashion to describe different ways of working
