Responsibilities - External

Under general supervision, performs general maintenance in an office park setting. Requires a highly diversified base of knowledge and skills with the ability to provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers in a professional, respectful manner. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to respond to weather, environmental or emergency maintenance calls after normal working hours. Work is varied everyday and the employee needs to be highly adaptable to respond to these changes. A desire to learn and train is expected. Will report to the Assistant Facilities Manager.

  • Performs general building maintenance which includes lighting systems, ceiling tiles, general clean up in and around the building and stocking supplies if needed.
  • Moves furniture and office equipment as required. 
  • Performs small carpentry projects such as installing shelving units, mounting white boards, pictures, minor furniture repairs, etc.
  • Services building automation controls and security systems (camera and card access).
  • Performs plumbing repairs such as faucet, flushometers replacement and repairing small leaks. Works on any floor or roof drain problems.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on various equipment in the buildings including electrical, mechanical, door closers, locks, plumbing and anything related to keeping facility running smoothly.  Also installs such equipment.
  • During winter months has snow removal responsibilities including operating snow blowers, shoveling and salting equipment
  • Performs other related tasks and projects as may be required and reports on facilities operational status to Assistant Facilities Manager.
  • Timely and accurate setups of conference and function room furniture, fixtures and audio visual equipment. Performs setups for special and seasonal events conducted annually.
  • Completes work orders for office building tenants 
  • Coordinates and monitors work with vendor and construction contractors.

Qualifications - External

  • Associate’s degree /technical training/certifications/Military service technical training
  • Microsoft Office suite experience
  • Experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, alarm and monitoring systems
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience very helpful
  • Work with computer software systems such as building automation system and work order document tracking
  • Familiar with loss prevention activities including inspections and testing of fire sprinkler systems and hot work management
