    FM Global’s business technology transformation has produced changes to improve how we deliver technology solutions to market. These changes include the formation of a new technology enablement organization and establishment of a chapter specializing in architecture. The chapter will create several new enterprise architect roles. These positions will report to the Chapter Lead for Architecture.

    Responsibilities - External

    The Enterprise Architect (EA) is responsible for alignment of IT infrastructure with business processes to enable achievement of business vision and desired outcomes. He or she identifies and assesses the current state of the technology, systems and processes of the organization and provides recommendations, strategies, and roadmaps to move the company toward an optimized future state that improves business capabilities and drives innovation. The incumbent collaborates with Solution Architects (SA) to provide guidance that ensures technology products are designed to support the evolution of business objectives. The EA provides technical governance for certain overarching technical constructs. He or she fosters collaboration across the Product and Technology Enablement organizations and develops cross-organizational relationships with business and IS partners to influence the enterprise wide technology architecture.

    Qualifications - External

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline; or equivalent work experience and training. Advanced degree and certification are desirable.

    10+ Years’ experience designing, developing, implementing enterprise scale technology solutions

    3+ Years’ experience defining and implementing strategies under a CIO or technical leader

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • Subject matter expertise in one or more component architecture disciplines: business architecture, data architecture, application architecture, network architecture, security architecture.
    • Experience designing building technical architecture with modern, enabling technologies and processes e.g. cloud computing, continuous integration/continuous delivery, virtualization, object oriented software design and development, JavaScript frameworks, REST services, mobile development, standards based authentication and authorization protocols.
    • Application performance management tools and techniques.
    • Experience collaborating with solution architects, information security, business process architects, product owners, business strategists, and innovators to design and communicate a secure, technical infrastructure that enables continuous evolution and delivery of business value.
    • Conducting technology evaluations, proof of concepts, vendor relations.
    • System integration patterns and best practices.
    • Strong communication skills: oral presentations, writing, negotiation, active listening, influence positive team dynamics. Can tailor your message to your audience.
    • Organizationally savvy. Skilled strategist and planner. Experience with EA frameworks is a plus.
