The senior graphic designer will be an innovative thinker who knows how to get things accomplished. As someone who takes pride in a well-solved problem, he/she asks the right questions to fully understand the objective, the business and the client’s needs. This person will be highly-collaborative and appreciate the creative process, involving the design team and other team members along the way. This congenial designer will establish good relationships quickly and become a good partner to all. He/she will initiate design ideas and executions and follow through to production, while considering all channels the content could be used in (ex. sales, social media, chunked in parts, PowerPoint, etc.). He/she will be technologically-savvy and stay on top of design and technology trends. He/she will support the design manager by assisting in brand consulting, review and education. The senior designer will art direct photoshoots and illustrations as needed and work with external partners when assigned.
He/she will uphold the FM Global Group’s graphic standards and ensure the highest quality product, whether print, digital or otherwise. He/she will design in whatever software or format best accomplishes the goal of the client. (Ex. sometimes will design in Microsoft Word).
B.F.A. in Graphic Design
8-10 years of increasingly responsible design positions in a corporate and/or agency setting
Thorough knowledge of design trends, principles, tools and tactics, especially digital, and communications techniques in general. Solid experience with the production process for all types of design including digital, print, online media. Strong overall communications skills with demonstrated expertise in face-to-face as well as written communications. Maintains knowledge of digital trends, typography, design, electronic pre-press, print production and electronic publishing hardware and software. Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop and the entire Creative Suite. Working knowledge of animation and user experience a plus. Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Knowledge of the insurance industry a bonus.
