    Responsibilities - External

    The Web/Mobile chapter lead is a subject matter expert in current state-of-the-art tools, technologies and processes supporting web and/or mobile application development. He or she guides the technology vision, builds and maximizes the capabilities and skills within the chapter, manages and supports chapter members. The chapter lead may contribute on a product team as a team member. The chapter lead is responsible for the development and growth of their chapter members and building their competencies, they are also responsible for all other administrative controls within the chapter. The chapter lead is an individual who is constantly searching for opportunities to identify relevant trends and tools that could improve the overall product delivery and the skillsets within the chapter. The chapter lead acts as practice leader who engages with product owners as technical subject matter expert.

    Qualifications - External

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent is required
    • Masters Degree in computer science or management of information systems is a plus

    Experience

    • 7+ years’ experience and recognized reputation of a technical expert in the area of software development
    • Experience in evaluating technologies, running effective technology proof of concepts, and managing technology vendor relationships
    • Experience interviewing, hiring and assessing personnel
    • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing highly motivated workforce
    • Experience working on projects that cover several organizations, business units or countries
    • Experience in fast-paced Agile environment as a team member is a plus
    • Scrum Master certification (or equivalent) is a plus

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Strong communication skills including ability to collaborate with customers and product owners
    • Ability to work with product owners and business leaders to anticipate technical resource needs and proactively develop and deploy resource capacity across multiple agile teams
    • Ability to teach members new concepts and techniques and gauge their proficiency with technologies employed by the Chapter.
    • Ability to create an atmosphere of trust and comfortable/efficient work environment
    • Proven skills in coaching team members in the areas of performance, standards and work methods.
    • Proven ability to resolve conflicts in the team before they escalate (mediation skills)
    • Ability to organize events in the subject area
    • Experience leading or managing teams with two or more of the following groups of technologies or design patterns:
      • Android or iOS development, natively or through Xamarin or Cordova
      • Web application development employing the MVC pattern, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript
      • Dependency injection patterns, inversion of control and object relational mapping including the application of these patters to automated testing
      • Responsive web development employing single page application frameworks such as Angular or React
    • Experience with secure software development tools, patterns and practices
