Our equipment and systems hazards research team is focused on understanding and quantifying engineering risks as well as finding ways to reduce those risks. We stay abreast on new and evolving trends and technologies and provide guidance to our clients around the world.
As a Senior Lead Research Engineer for Reliability you will join our Equipment and Systems Hazards Research team at FM Global’s Center for Property Risk Solutions near Boston, MA. We are a team of high powered individuals who identify, solve and support the implementation of solutions for today’s business problems, specifically supporting the Approvals, Engineering and Standards organizations in FM Global.
You will be working on cutting edge issues in the very dynamic, exciting and evolving research area of reliability, availability and engineering risk analysis.
You will plan, conduct, and direct the development and evaluation of approved scientific and engineering projects or tasks within projects, with minimal or limited supervision. You will work on business-critical projects, interact with internal and external customers and have responsibility for delivering and communicating the status and results of your projects. You will work on short and long-term business critical problems and develop new opportunities for FM Global to support property loss prevention.
PhD in Reliability Engineering / Science or related field or MS with at least 3 years of experience
- Experience with Reliability analysis software like BlockSim, CAFTA or SAPHIRE
- Experience with MATLAB a strong plus
- Understanding of thermal, mechanical and hydraulic systems is highly beneficial
- Proven ability to deliver results working with multi- disciplinary teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill
