We are looking for a property insurance professional to develop a growing portfolio of mid-market business in Benelux and Ireland, with a focus on the Netherlands and Ireland. The AFM Production Underwriter is responsible for both new business production and renewal retention while maintaining underwriting profit and protecting the company’s assets.
They must effectively market AFM products and services to a network of producers with whom long term relationships are developed, maintained and cultivated. The AFM production underwriter is responsible for profitable risk selection, negotiation of pricing, terms and conditions, and using creative underwriting strategies to optimize net retentions that effectively balance both customer and company needs. Working closely in team with Account Engineers and Account Administrators, the Production Underwriter also coordinates account team resources in order to provide excellent and responsive services that add value to our broker and customer relationships
Domestic, European and International travel is required for marketing and training purposes.
Suitable candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or finance or equivalent. Proven sales/underwriting experience within the industry with exposure to commercial property accounts of varying occupancies and sizes would be a significant plus. Working knowledge of our business including an understanding of risk identification and assessment, loss prevention and property insurance coverage, financial statements and business computer applications, including MS Office products is required. Suitable candidates possess skills in time management, problem solving, sales/negotiation, and leadership as well as the ability to establish a network of producers and industry contacts. The successful candidate will be creative, have effective communication skills and excellent attention to detail. Language skills required: Dutch & English; French an advantage.
