    Responsibilities - External

    The primary purpose of this position is to develop and implement the corporate strategy for achieving and maintaining environmental, health and safety (“EH&S”) compliance globally.

    The position is responsible for creating and implementing corporate EH&S department strategies, policies, programs, procedures, education, and training globally (including Hobbs Brook Management operations).

    The position should monitor and report on the program metrics to senior management.

    The position has the responsibility and authority to identify risks and recommend action on EH&S exposures globally, and will be required to implement policies and programs to mitigate such exposures in accordance with local laws and corporate strategy.

    The position will need to collaborate with other corporate departments, such as legal, human resources, risk management, engineering, claims, enterprise learning, and their stakeholders.

    Qualifications - External

    Bachelor's degree required with a concentration in engineering, industrial hygiene or occupational health and safety.

    A Certified Safety Professional designation is required.

    At least ten (10) years of experience preferred in developing and/or managing a global safety program in accordance with regulatory obligations.

    Demonstrated multi-national experience highly preferred

    Experience with multi-location, matrixed organization is required. Experience implementing OSHAS or ISO based EHS management systems.

    The position will be required to be familiar with US EH&S regulations as well as have a working knowledge of EH&S compliance obligations globally.

    Technical knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations, protocols, procedures, compliance programs and other best practices.

    Skilled in performing health and safety inspections.

    Excellent communication and organizational skills, including the ability to explain technical health and safety concepts in simple terms.

    Ability to collaborate with others, and achieve results through influence.

    Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.

    Ability compile and summarize data in an organized, professional manner.
