SENIOR STAFF ENGINEER
Develop solid, effective engineering guidelines, tools, products, systems, procedures, and/or related support materials for effective implementation and improvement. Research, evaluate and create policies for broad use by individual Operations to address critical projects related to field engineering system application, hazard analysis, and reporting with companywide impact. Within established policy, resolve and bring clarity to complex questions or concerns or perceived discrepancies about standards, policies, procedures, processes or business applications from field and account engineers or other segments of FM Global such as underwriting or IS. Prepare field and account engineers to use new standards, procedures, process, tools, systems, technology by developing job aids, conducting or coordinating training, writing procedures or coordinating hardware / software needs. Lead interdisciplinary teams by providing strategic engineering direction in the development of various projects.
Requires Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related and 3 years of experience as Property Loss Prevention Engineer. Requires 3 years engineering experience in each of the following: fire prevention and protection safeguards; consulting experience with clients regarding property loss prevention and risk mitigation; experience providing review of construction documents to ensure compliance with acceptable codes and standards; experience must include writing technical reports. Requires 15-20% travel to visit FM Global insured locations and other FM Global office locations, and to attend industry organization meetings.
