This position is primarily responsible for helping Clients meet compliance requirements of the State and Local jurisdictions in which they are located by consulting on, and conducting, jurisdictional certificate inspections of boilers and pressure vessels. The inspector will be expected to maintain and manage a jurisdictional servicing territory within the FM Global New York Operations. This servicing territory would primarily include work in New York City (the 5 boroughs) and may include work in lower NY State or Northern NJ Counties. Some travel may be periodically required to also support Northeastern PA Counties.
Jurisdictional inspections are conducted within the requirements of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, the Rules of the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors, The National Board Inspection Code, jurisdictional laws and regulations, and FM Global programs, procedures and instructions. The inspector will be managed and supervised by the Operations Chief Inspector.
Current National Board and local jurisdictional commissions are required to fulfill the responsibilities, including those for qualified review of repairs in accordance with the NBIC and FM Global requirements.
Education: High School graduate or equivalent is require. Depending on experience and other factors, a BS in Engineering or an Associate's Degree from a 2 year technical school may be needed.
