    Responsibilities - External

    As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will provide analytical support to the Operations and the various functional departments within the Company. Through data analysis and knowledge management you will determine which actionable insights can be extracted from our data, and how we can use these insights to benefit our clients. You will also provide information that will inform management of new connections in our data, and that will assist with decision making (such as emerging external trends or changing internal demands). The Business Intelligence Analyst will identify new and previously unrecognized needs or opportunities for analytics and data reporting and the role will help set the direction for where to invest resources to achieve optimal insight and business intelligence from our data sources.

    The incumbent will gather enterprise-wide data through many ways; from mining the company's engineering and underwriting data through software, identifying and utilizing external data, researching industry trends, etc. You will be expected to understand, interpret and communicate the FM Global experience reflected in the results. This role will involve collaborative efforts in developing reporting solutions, improving data cleansing rules, modifying processes / data structures and creating dashboards, exploring innovative analytic solutions, etc.

    Qualifications - External

    The ideal candidate will have 1-2+ years of professional experience with statistical computing software, machine learning, data visualizations and web analytics along with the desire to advance their career in the business of insurance.

     A Bachelor of Science or equivalent is required in Business, Business Intelligence, Math, Statistics, Engineering or Information Science and having insurance industry experience is preferred.

    The candidate must have excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence successful outcomes with diverse business groups. Effective problem solving, decision making, and strong analytical skills are a must. Excellent computer skills across various hardware systems and PCs are a must. The ideal candidate will also possess advanced knowledge and proficiency in the use of Excel and SQL Server.

    Demonstrated professional experience with software in the following categories is highly preferred.

    Statistical computing (R, Python, SPSS, etc.)

    Data Visualizations (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)

    Machine Learning (Tensorflow, SPSS, Data Robot, etc.)

    Web Analytics (Google, Adobe, Mouseflow, etc.)

    Compensation Grade and Job Title will be determined based on qualifications, experience and technical skillset.
