    Responsibilities - External

    The buyer position within Purchasing Services processes requisitions for various products and services for all levels of management and staff at all North American locations.  It is the incumbent's responsibility to ensure that all purchase orders are issued in compliance with corporate purchasing policies and procedures.  Important accountabilities are the verification of appropriate levels of approval along with the responsibility to research the vendor market to ensure competitive positioning for quality, service, delivery and pricing.  The incumbent will also assist internal customers in working with suppliers to resolve issues with orders and will work with requisitioner's, suppliers and the accounts payable department to ensure completion of purchasing transactions from requisition to final payment to vendor.

    Qualifications - External

    Education:  BA or BS preferred along with 2-3 years of purchasing experience in a corporate environment.

     

    Proficiencies:

    Knowledge of purchasing aspects of contracts and agreements.

    Service oriented.

    Computer literacy essential, MS Word, Excel, Outlook and knowledge of purchasing systems.

    Excellent negotiating, math and communication skills are essential.

    Strong record keeping skills are required.
