    We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Production Underwriter based in London. Developing a growing portfolio of International Cargo business from both internal FM Global sources and in the open market will be a key part of the role. If you enjoy both the marketing of insurance products & services as well as underwriting and risk analysis, this Production Underwriter position could be for you!

     

    This position reports to the Assistant Cargo Manager and will be based in our London office.  

     

    Responsibilities - External

     

    • Contributing towards the planning and execution of marketing/development initiatives.
    • Underwriting analysis and quotation of new business prospects to company guidelines.
    • Underwriting of existing accounts, renewal strategy formulation and execution.
    • Developing/maintaining long term relationships with a select group of brokers and clients.
    • Internal and External Sales and marketing presentations

    Accounts handled are primarily UK, European and Asian. Overnight travel will be required as necessary. Training will be provided on the job in the UK and/or North America.

    Qualifications - External

    Candidates will have proven experience in the cargo insurance environment in either an underwriting or broking position. Educated to degree level or equivalent, candidates must be full or part-qualified ACII and be able to demonstrate excellent time management, problem solving, sales/negotiation, and leadership skills. Applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to establish and manage a network of business producers and contacts that will contribute to successful, profitable operations. The successful candidate will be creative, detail-oriented and be able to plan their own daily activities and work unsupervised, working efficiently under pressure.
